The Medical Device Authority (MDA) has introduced a new MyDigital ID login feature for its MedC@St 2.0+ system, effective 23 June 2025. This enhancement aims to strengthen account security, improve authentication standards, and align with Malaysia’s national digital transformation efforts.
What is MyDigital ID?
MyDigital ID is Malaysia’s official digital identity authentication platform. Developed by the government, it offers:
- Two-factor verification
- Validation against official government records
- Enhanced protection against identity fraud and account compromise
What’s New for MedC@St 2.0+ Users?
- Users can now log in via MyDigital ID as a more secure alternative to traditional username-password access.
- Single Sign-On (SSO) has been implemented within MedC@St 2.0+, allowing users to sign in once and access multiple MDA systems (with more platforms to follow).
- Users are required to update their profile information by adding their NRIC (for Malaysians) or passport number (for non-citizens), a prerequisite to enable future authentication improvements.
Note: Login via MyDigital ID is currently optional, and users may still log in using their existing username, password, and OTP credentials. However, MyDigital ID is strongly encouraged for improved security and a smoother login experience.
